Dr. Michael V. Drake, 15th president of The Ohio State University, will make his first official visit to The Ohio State University at Marion and the Marion community on Tuesday, March 24th.
Ohio State Marion Assistant Professor of Physics, Chris Orban, Ph.D. contributed to a highly-awaited scientific study on stellar plasmas entitled “A higher-than-predicted measurement of iron opacity at solar interior temperatures” that was recently published in the journal Nature.
University administrators anticipate hiring new biology faculty and adding the necessary coursework over the next few years to allow students who begin the biology program at Ohio State Marion this fall to complete the entire degree on the Marion campus by the time the first cohort of students is ready for graduation.

President Warren G. Harding’s wife, Florence, is considered the first of the “modern” first ladies. The role of the presidents’ wives from Mrs. Harding’s day in the 1920s forward will be the theme of this year’s Warren G. Harding Symposium at The Ohio State University at Marion, July 17th and 18th.

The Ohio State University at Marion in partnership with The Annex of Marion, Marion County Engineers, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Marion Technical College welcomed the public to a Three-Way Groundbreaking Celebration, Wednesday, November 12th, 3 p.m., on the Marion campus in Maynard Hall’s Guthery Community Room. The event signified the launch of three important projects on the campus: Ohio State Marion’s Science & Engineering Building; the long awaited University Drive extension, which will serve as a major access point onto campus and a key traffic artery for the Marion community; and construction of privately developed student housing adjacent to campus.
