Ohio State Marion is expanding its hands‑on STEM Engineering Workshops to high schools across central Ohio, offering the program at no cost to schools or students thanks to a $10,000 Outreach and Engagement Grant awarded by The Ohio State University Office of Outreach and Engagement.
For Ohio State Marion freshman Abbey Benzing, college life is about more than textbooks and lectures—it’s about keeping the music alive. Benzing, a Hilliard, Ohio native and mechanical engineering major, has found a unique way to balance academics with her lifelong passion for band by joining the Ohio State Athletic Band.
Ohio State Marion engineering faculty were among ten university-wide recipients of a $10,000 University Outreach and Engagement Documenting Impact Grant to support science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) outreach efforts in grades K–12 across Marion and surrounding counties during the 2025–26 academic year.
