Growth brings progress and opportunity for higher education and the community

Expanded academic space for science & engineering, student housing, and a new road through campus have come to reality, at virtually the same time.

The Ohio State University at Marion in partnership with The Annex of Marion, Marion County Engineers, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Marion Technical College welcomed the public to a Three-Way Groundbreaking Celebration, Wednesday, November 12th, 3 p.m., on the Marion campus in Maynard Hall’s Guthery Community Room.  The event signified the launch of three important projects on the campus: Ohio State Marion’s Science & Engineering Building; the long awaited University Drive extension, which will serve as a major access point onto campus and a key traffic artery for the Marion community; and construction of privately developed student housing adjacent to campus.

The combined investment for the 3 projects totals approximately $23 million.

“Each of these is a major milestone for the Marion area and our campus,” said Dr. Gregory S. Rose, Dean and Director of The Ohio State University at Marion.

“Together, they will have significant educational and economic impacts on our campus and the community, and bring new opportunities for our students,” Rose added.
