A new leg of the Marion campus biking/walking trail is taking shape as the campus’s summer paving project progresses. A section of the trail that will eventually connect with the Royal Oaks subdivision on the west and the Forum Shopping Center on the east is now being paved. The campus trail will cut through the woods to Woodside Drive and allow easier access from the campus to the Forum Center with a pedestrian bridge over Grave Creek.
Attracting attendees from throughout Ohio and from around the country each year, the Harding Symposium at Ohio State Marion will be held Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st. The symposium features an opening reception, the annual presidential wreath-laying ceremony at the Harding Memorial, three workshop sessions with outstanding scholars, historians and journalists, and a concluding dinner program, as well as guided tours of the Harding Home & Memorial.

University will cover full cost of tuition for Ohio Pell students at regional campuses, extending reach of program set to begin in Columbus.
Ohio State Marion junior psychology major Nathan Baker of Mount Gilead, Ohio will spend his summer at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI). Unlike the thousands of patrons that walk through the doors of this Columbus science education stalwart each day to learn about science, Baker will be going to create science.

Bradley, known for the decades of work in spider research and the environment, was awarded the Ralph Howard Service Award, Friday, April 20, 2018 at The Ohio State University at Marion’s 47th Annual Academic Recognition Ceremony in Morrill Hall Auditorium.

Dean & Director of The Ohio State University at Marion, Dr. Gregory Rose, was one of seven university-wide recognized with the 2018 Wellness Leadership Award. The award was presented by Vice President for Health Promotion and Chief Wellness Officer, Bernadette Melnyk as part of the annual State of Health and Wellness in Buckeye Nation that took place March 27th in the Ohio Union Great Hall Meeting Room.

For the first time, an Ohio State Marion student is receiving a Pelotonia Fellowship to perform undergraduate cancer research. Friday the 13th brought good news to Bailey Lucas, a 20-year-old senior zoology major, when she was notified that she would be receiving the $12,000 fellowship.
