Campus Conversations on AI: AI, Ethics, and the Future

Date
December 9, 2025
Time
12:40 p.m. - 1:40 p.m.
Location
Maynard Hall, Guthery Community Room

About this event

Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere. As we make our way through this new terrain, we want to bring together faculty, staff, and students for meaningful dialogue and interactive exploration. Through a series of campus conversations, we will explore pressing topics in AI. Each session will be interactive, appropriate for any skill level, and designed to engage all members of our campus community. All perspectives are welcomed and encouraged.

We will hold roundtable discussions centered on various pressing questions generated from real life, such as,

  • “Will I have to use AI in my classes?”
  • “How will AI affect how I do my job?”
  • “I’ve never used AI. When is it okay to use in a class, in my career, in my job?”
  • “I use AI a lot. How can I keep my work private and secure?”
  • “What are the ethical implications of implementing AI fluency on a massive scale?”

You will be free to choose which tables you would like to join and questions to explore.

Feel free to send questions you would like to discuss to Donna at bobbitt-zeher.1@osu.edu if you have any you would like included.

JOIN US FOR A COMMUNITY DISCUSSION EXPLORING THE ROLE OF AI AT WORK & SCHOOL
Jill Frey, CEO of Cummins Facility Services in conversation with Dr. Jennifer Schlueter, Dean and Director of Ohio State Marion

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming both the workplace and educational environments, reshaping how we learn, collaborate, and innovate. In professional settings, AI streamlines operations, enhances decision-making, and unlocks new efficiencies—from predictive analytics in finance to intelligent automation in manufacturing. In schools, AI personalizes learning experiences, supports educators with smart tools, and prepares students for a tech-driven future.

Cummins Facility Services is pioneering the use of AI in facility management through innovations like FacilityGenius—leveraging predictive cleaning, indoor air quality monitoring, real-time task tracking and intelligent data insights to transform how buildings operate. Jill’s conversation will explore how AI is reshaping the future of facilities and sustainability while sharing how her journey, rooted in Marion, continues to drive innovation and opportunity locally and globally.

Jill Frey is a trailblazer in smart building technology and AI-powered facility management. As CEO of Cummins Facility Services, she has transformed a traditional janitorial company into an innovation leader, integrating AI, IoT and data-driven solutions into facilities nationwide. She is also the founder of Facility Data Standard and FacilityGenius, as well as the driving force behind FacilityInSites. This platform brings intelligence to buildings through real-time sensors, robotics, and analytics. Marion has been a foothold for Jill in establishing her international growth, and she remains deeply passionate about supporting people in Marion to achieve successful outcomes.
