The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Fellowship Program offers an incomparable chance to gain experience as a professional researcher at Ohio State's Stone Lab on Lake Erie.
Under the guidance of top scientists, REU students carry out their own research projects from start to finish, including specimen collection, data analysis, and a final presentation. Justin North, The History of the Council of Jewish Women of Marion

ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:  North will be discussing the Council of Jewish Women. The council was created in 1885 and ended in 1954 when they merged with the Temple Israel Sisterhood. During their time as a council, they were a member of the broader National Council of Jewish Women, which still exists to this day. The council also did much community work for the local children and to the liberated people of Europe during World War II. The Council of Jewish Women, Marion did much for the community.  By the end of the 1940's, the council was more focused on working with the temple congregation as the Temple Israel in Marion was in the process of being developed. As the council moved to become more local, this is when they made the decision to leave the national council and form the sisterhood.

Do you know an exceptional staff member? Consider nominating them for a Distinguished Staff Award. The annual award honors staff members for their outstanding achievements, service, leadership and dedication to Ohio State, as well as their demonstration of the university’s Shared Values. It is the highest honor bestowed upon Ohio State staff members. Each recipient receives a $1,500 cash award, and a commemorative trophy. The nomination deadline is Monday, January 27, at 5 p.m.
