About this event

This evening program celebrates the academic accomplishments of students at The Ohio State University at Marion. The event celebrates undergraduate student research, outstanding student work in classroom assignments and projects, excellence in a particular subject matter. In addition, outstanding faculty are recognized by students and their peers. The generosity of donors and community members in support of the Ohio State Marion is also featured. A light refreshment reception will follow the ceremony.

RUOK? Day is an annual event that highlights our campus culture of caring and encourages us to pause and check in with each other. No one is okay, every day, and that is alright. Students are encouraged to attend this fair-like event to play games and participate in fun activities to earn a free t-shirt and be entered into raffle drawings. Engineering Seminar Series: Jeremiah Whittington

About this event

Jeremiah Whittington is a mechanical engineer at ArcelorMittal Tubular Productsin Marion, Ohio. His current focus is supporting production improvements to increase quality throughput and reduce downtimethrough developing current and new production methods and project management.

Whittington has worked in the engineering field for the past twenty-one years, holding many different responsibilities that include: maintaining and improving existing equipment to assistin production needs, designing and building new equipment used in current production and implementing secondary processes for material to improve production throughput. Whittington has extensive experience in product development from the initial concept of design through the development process/stage, and mass production implementation at Cardington Yutaka & North America Yutaka Group. All these activitiesare from the perspective of entry-level through management positions. Whittington also oversees and directs members in various areas with the directive of developing parts as a Tier One supplier to Honda.

Pizza will be provided.

"Spark" Grants for Arts Engagement Application Due

About this event

Attention regional campus faculty, students, and staff: "Spark" grants for arts engagement

Over the next three years, the Office of Outreach and Engagement will offer "Spark" grants, funded by the Mellon Foundation, to Ohio State faculty, students and staff for engagement projects that center the arts, especially projects done in partnership with communities served by our regional campuses. During this first year of the program, grants will be funded to a maximum of $25,000.

The Office of Outreach and Engagement provides funding to faculty and/or faculty-led teams, and university staff that hold PI status with the annual Engagement Grants program. Grants are awarded at a maximum amount of $15,000 to support development of impact reports for programs, performances or exhibits; development of a public policy document or impact report; development or implementation of a program, performance, exhibition, or initiative based upon previous research, assessment, or community stakeholder/public input; or enhance or expand a program that extends community access to the university, broadly defined.

In collaboration with Ohio State Energy Partners (OSEP), the Office of Academic Affairs has opened a call for grant proposals that align with the university's sustainability goals; align with advancing access, engagement and inclusive excellence goals; or provide research opportunities (in all disciplines) to students who have limited exposure to undergraduate research and experiential learning opportunities. Faculty, staff and students are eligible to apply. Awards range from $10,000 to $50,000.
