Student presentation by Grace Salina - Grace will talk about their trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.

"I had such an incredible time in Estes Park Colorado. Visiting Rocky Mountain National Park was one of the best experiences I have ever had. With the freedom to explore the area, I enjoyed everything from hiking to a mountain roller coaster. I even saw elk for the first time! Beautiful weather allowed a zipline experience from the top of a mountain too. I can’t wait to share this amazing trip with everyone.”

What is the Student Opportunity Development Fund?

The Student Opportunity Development Fund is now available thanks to the generosity of Ohio State’s English Lecturer, Pete Dully. The fund finances opportunities for students to pursue unusual or adventuresome activities outside the classroom that would not otherwise be accessible to them. Funds are provided with the intent of broadening students’ engagement with the world outside Central Ohio.
 

Apply for the Student Opportunity Development Fund

Applications are reviewed on a semester basis for use in the coming semester (not limited to just when class is in session).
The next round of Student Opportunity Development takes place in the spring, and the deadline to apply is April 1.

About this event

The Engineering Seminar Series hosts professionals across diverse engineering fields from both academia and industry. The series will highlight engineering projects and insight from top experts in the field. Also, speakers will discuss different career paths in engineering and help students to set their career goals.

 Wes Peters started his academic career at Ohio State Marion in the fall of 1989 after graduating from Ridgedale High School. He obtained an Industrial & Systems Engineering degree from Ohio State in 1994, master’s degree in manufacturing management from Kettering University in 1998 and has logged over 30 years of manufacturing experience, the first 26 with Whirlpool, supporting various locations across North America. Wes is now in a global strategic role with Goodyear serving over 35 plants worldwide, where he participates in strategic business analytics, as well as leads the company’s work in lean logistics called “Production Flow” as part of Goodyear’s Manufacturing System, Plant Optimization. Wes also co-leads the Focused Improvement Pillar which helps drive capability development of various levels of problem solvers. Wes considers himself a coach and enjoys developing the next generation of continuous improvement experts, with an eye on delivering results.
