The Ohio State University Arts & Sciences Honors Committee has reviewed and chosen to fund a proposal to support undergraduate student research at Ohio State Marion.

Ted and Marlene (’86, ’87) Temple of Marion, Ohio have been supporting the university they love for over 30 years. Ted has served as the president of the Ohio State Marion Alumni Club since 1988, and Marlene has been the secretary since 1986.

For John Simonis, a junior majoring in electrical and computer engineering, this environment has been the foundation for his rapid rise in engineering research and innovation.

Dr. Nikole Patson, a professor in The Ohio State University College of Arts and Sciences Department of Psychology and faculty member at The Ohio State University at Marion, has been selected as a recipient of The Ohio State University’s 2025 Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching. Established during the 1959-1960 academic year, it is one of the university's most prestigious teaching awards.

First Gen Friday is a monthly first-person narrative written by other first generation college students who are now fellow faculty, staff, and students at Ohio State Marion. The goal of the stories is to provide advice to other first generation college students and create a sense of belonging among the campus community.

The Ohio State University at Marion is advancing its mission through a dedicated STEM outreach program led by Qudsia Tahmina, Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Funded by the Honda education grant since 2023, this initiative was established to support Ohio State Marion's STEM camps and Summer Engineering Camps, which are designed to engage young engineers at the middle school level and beyond. Professor Tahmina's efforts have successfully secured over $50,000 in funding.

The Wayne & Geraldine Kuhn Fine Arts Gallery at Ohio State Marion will hold a public reception, Fri., April 4, 12:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall for the gallery exhibit, Sustainability Stories – Minding & Mending Our Ways: Moving Towards an Intentional Future. This event is free and open to the campus community and the public. The exhibit will be on display through September 2025.

The Ohio State University at Marion’s Five Nights on Campus performing arts series welcomes the northeast Ohio based six-member band Long Time Gone to Morrill Hall Auditorium, Thursday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m.
