Matt Carbary, former President of the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce and currently Operations Leader for Sims Bros. Recycling of Marion was honored with the Ralph Howard Service Award Friday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall Auditorium during the campus's annual Academic Recognition Ceremony.

Ohio State Marion Alum Austin King uses his English degree to help students succeed. King, a graduate of The Ohio State University at Marion, is making a difference in the lives of students as a college and career readiness coach at Marion City Schools.

Natalie Abbott Walston, a former Ohio State Marion student, has had a successful career in writing and education. She attended Ohio State Marion from 1992 to 1994 and credits the English department for giving her a solid foundation in writing that has served her well in her various careers.

Carlee Beaty attended The Ohio State University at Marion from fall 2006 to spring 2010, where she completed her undergraduate degree in English. She spent all four years at Ohio State Marion, taking advantage of the excellent English program offered by the campus. Today, she is an English teacher at Metro Early College High School, an accelerated STEM school on Ohio State's Columbus campus.

Lauren Chivington, a former Ohio State University Marion English major, is a prime example of how an English degree can lead to success. Chivington attended Ohio State Marion from the autumn 2015-spring 2018 academic years, after transferring from Columbus State. Although they did not attend all four years at Marion, Chivington shared that the time at Ohio State Marion left a lasting impact on their career.

The Ohio State University at Marion's Five Nights on Campus performing arts and entertainment series welcomes renown vocalist Helen Welch, who will perform a stirring tribute to "The First Ladies of Song," Thursday, April 13, 7:30 p.m., in Morrill Hall Auditorium.

Members of the public are invited to attend the Annual Marion Campus Job and Internship Fair on Wednesday, April 12 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Alber Student Center on the Marion Campus. Dozens of companies looking to hire employees and interns will be attending. Tri-Rivers Career Center is excited to be the newest partner in this annual event with returning partners Marion Technical College, The Ohio State University at Marion, and Ohio Means Jobs – Marion County.
