Campus welcomes Peregrina to communications office

All roads lead back to Ohio State for new digital media staffer and Ohio State alumnus Christian Peregrina.

Ohio State Marion recently welcomed Christian Peregrina to the role of web communication specialist in the Office of Communications and Marketing.

He officially stepped into this expanded role on Monday, December 7th. Peregrina will be responsible to coordinate content for multiple web and social media platforms, including content management, content creation, programming of The Ohio State University at Marion web presence and ancillary sub-sites. He will manage and engage campus social media accounts, while keeping abreast of and training in multimedia trends, specifically digital media, as they relate to the position

He was born at the The Ohio State University’s Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Shortly thereafter, his family moved overseas to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates where his father Dr. Alejandro Peregrina (an Ohio State alum), taught and practiced dentistry abroad. His father is currently an Associate Professor of Dentistry at The Ohio State University.

By his early teen years his family decided to move back to the States to be closer to family. After spending a few years in Illinois, they moved back to Columbus during his sophomore year of high school.

Peregrina graduated from Dublin Scioto High School in 2007. He went on to enroll at Ohio State Marion’s Delaware Center where he spent the first two years of his collegiate career. Peregrina earned his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism in 2011, with a minor in International Diplomacy.

After graduation he partnered up with his older brother, a graphic designer, and began taking on freelance work in copywriting and editing for small business clients. Working on projects sparked an interest in learning new software that went beyond a conventional copywriter’s pay grade.

From then on, Peregrina had a desire to work in multi-faceted positions where he could utilize more of his new skills in digital media. He worked at a marketing agency in Grandview and volunteered as a communications intern at the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio. By the fall of 2014 he began working as a full-time copywriter at Abercrombie & Fitch Home Office in New Albany.

Peregrina is currently a resident of Dublin, Ohio.
