Dean Rose letter to the Ohio State Marion students
March 30, 2020
Hello, Ohio State Marion students.
It was an extraordinary first week back from Spring Break for you, for faculty, and for staff.
As we enter week 2 of our new teaching arrangements, thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue the transition into a different mode of learning and as we work through the many changes. Your faculty did an amazing amount of work in a short time to reformat their courses, and your advisors and other staff are using new modes of communication to engage with you.
We pride ourselves in our small campus environment in which you can regularly access faculty and staff. Although in person access cannot happen now, please use any or all of the new ways to continue to engage in your courses and with faculty: being involved in class, asking questions, and requesting help. And reach out to your advisors and other staff as you always have done. Support from the academic success center, disabilities services, and mental health and wellness continues to be available. Please check the campus website.
Most importantly, please take good care of yourselves and your loved ones during this unusual time. Faculty and staff know you are negotiating unfamiliar territory under different pressures and in different arrangements, and we appreciate your flexibility. Although modes of engagement are different now, we are still a culture of caring campus. Please continue to reach out.
Stay safe, and thank you.
