Student Organizations, Publications, & Programs

Ohio State Marion offers students a wide array of extracurricular opportunities that encourages them to express themselves creatively, interact with like-minded students and faculty, and participate in the larger Marion community. Here are several examples sponsored by the English Program.

  • Kapow!: Ohio State Marion’s student creative writing club meets regularly to share and workshop their writing. We encourage all writers to come out! For information about meeting dates and locations, contact Stuart Lishan.
  • Cornfield Review: This annual literary publication, started in 1976, showcases the literary and visual talents of OSU Marion students as well as the larger community beyond campus. Additionally, Cornfield Review: Online, the print journal’s web-based supplement, features creative digital media content such as videos, graphic design, and audio compositions.
  • PALS: The Pride and Life Skills Student Mentoring Program allows Ohio State Marion students to make a difference in the lives of Marion-area K-12 students.
  • Pay it Forward Marion: The Pay It Forward Marion Student Philanthropy Program promotes civic engagement in English courses ranging from beginner to advanced and improves the local community through skill-based service, fundraising, and philanthropy.
