Spring-semester students in engineering 2367, a second-year writing class taught by English lecturer Sue Oakes, recently interviewed a variety of Marion, Ohio business and industry leaders about technological advancements and the use of scientific principles in their career fields and industries.

Student posters related to this class project are on display at Ohio State Marion's Maynard Hall lobby this week, and in the campus library next month.

Prizes were awarded by a panel of campus faculty and staff to the following students for their "Top Three" posters:

First Prize:
"The Cost of Poverty"
Judge Teresa Ballinger, of the Marion Municipal Court, was interviewed by Lucas Allison, a freshman business major from Carey, Ohio

Second Prize (Tie):
"Nucor & the Future of Steel Production"
Therr Nowlin, of Nucor, was interviewed by Brandon Gobrecht, a sophomore criminal justice major from Bucyrus, Ohio

"Surgery with Robotic Hands"
Dr. Jay Moodley, a physician at the Marion hospital, was interviewed by Anandita Mahajan, a freshman psychology major from Delaware, Ohio.
