The Ohio State University at Marion awarded their 2024 Outstanding Staff Award to Senior Registration and Records Coordinator, Amy Erickson during their annual Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Monday, August 5 at noon in Maynard Hall’s Guthery Community Room.
The Ohio State University at Marion Outstanding Staff Award is presented to one Marion campus staff member annually in recognition of exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and/or service to the campus. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to nominate a deserving eligible staff member for their performance above and beyond traditional work assignments. The recipient of the Ohio State Marion Outstanding Staff Award will also be nominated for the university-wide Distinguished Staff Award.
Erickson was one of 8 nominees for the annual award. She was nominated along with fellow staff members, Penny Eyster from academic advising (recently retired), Scott Hushour from facilities and maintenance, Ronnie Marquis from facilities and maintenance, Tiffiny Rye-McCurdy from the campus Academic Success Center, Lisa Salyer from facilities and housekeeping, Jessica Sturgill from academic advising and Pat Wood from the Marion Campus Library.
According to the anonymous nominations, Erickson, “Works behind the scenes to ensure that things on campus run smoothly for students, faculty, and staff with an excellence that is easy to overlook as we have come to expect things to be such smooth sailing because this person does such a great job.” they said.
Another nominator shared that Erickson, “consistently demonstrated a high level of commitment to accuracy and completeness of tasks, displayed an exquisite attention to detail, efficiency, and professionalism making the work accurate, thorough, and timely.”
“Her project management skills are well-refined and serve as an example for all of us of how to set deadlines, communicate those deadlines, and break large projects into smaller tasks all with a clear end goal in mind,” added another nominator. “Erickson is an amazing team member, volunteering across campus to help other departments, open to working in new ways to meet goals, and a trusted resource amongst those in her area from other campuses,” the nominator concluded.
