English faculty member endows new fund that allows students to engage the world

Pete Dully and Cathy Gerber with $100,000 check from Pete Dully to Students of Ohio State Marion

Ohio State Marion Senior Lecturer of English, Peter Dully believes in the power of experiences. More specifically, building a campus of global citizens, students who have the opportunity to see and experience the world beyond central Ohio. On November 22, 2019, Dully donated $100,000 to fund these opportunities for current and future students.

An endowed fund, the Student Opportunity Development Fund finances opportunities for student to pursue unusual or adventuresome activities outside the classroom that would not otherwise be accessible to them. Funds are provided with the intent of broadening engagement with the world outside Central Ohio. The fund will provide support for students who are attending the Marion campus and demonstrate financial need to participate in experiences to enrich their lives, including but not limited to study-abroad, community service trips, and leadership conferences.

Those interested in learning more about donating should speak with Cathy Gerber in the Office of Community Relations and Development. For students who wish to apply, contact the office of financial aid at Ohio State Marion.
