Each year, the participants in the Leadership Marion program, run by the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce, develop a project to address a need in the community by coordinating with community organizations and partners. 2022 was no exception. A group of Ohio State Marion faculty and staff are helping their community counterparts lead the way in this important initiative.
A dedicated team of Ohio State Marion faculty, students, staff, and Marion volunteer cyclists that take part in The James Comprehensive Cancer Center’s annual three day cycling and fundraising event Pelotonia, were recently recognized by the organization for raising over $100,000 for cancer research over the past 9 years.
Students in Senior English Lecturer, Amy Tibbals’ autumn English 2367.01S service-learning course ended spring semester by awarding three local non-profit agencies a total of $5,000 to support the work each organization does in the community as part of an over-decade-long project at Ohio State Marion known as Pay It Forward.
