New federal numbers place The Ohio State University among the best in the nation for research. Ohio State climbed to 12th place nationally among all universities for total research expenditures. The university also strengthened its standing in industry-sponsored research, rising to 6th nationally and underscoring its growing impact as a leader in discovery, innovation and academic excellence.

The Ohio State University at Marion welcomed new staff member Kiersten Spiegel to campus Monday, January 5, 2026.  Spiegel will coordinate testing services for students receiving accommodations through the Office for Disability Services.

Buckeye Talks on Tap welcomes Ohio State Marion Dean & Director, Jennifer Schlueter to Passenger and Rail Co at Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen, 320 W. Center Street, Marion, Tuesday., January 13, 2026, 5:30 p.m., for a lecture titled, “Civic Practice in Motion: Land-Grant Beginnings, Black Mountain Experiments, and the Work Ahead for Regional Campuses.”

A dozen area high school students earned $18,000 in scholarships at the 14th annual OSU MTC Marion Math Challenge on the Marion Campus on Dec. 12. A total of 107 students from six high schools vied for the top scores.

Family, friends, students, faculty, and staff came together in Ohio State Marion’s Guthery Community Room on Thursday, December 11th to celebrate a group of Buckeyes standing on the precipice of a new chapter in their lives, the move from college to career.
