The Ohio State University at Marion will celebrate leadership, service, and lifelong learning during its 2026 Alumni Hall of Fame Awards Dinner on Nov. 9, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the Guthery Community Room in Maynard Hall. The event's theme, The American Story: Duty, Leadership & Legacy, honors individuals who answered the call to serve and inspired future generations.
The evening will recognize Dr. Anthony Williams as the 2026 Alumni Hall of Fame recipient for his contributions to the campus, the university, his profession, and his community.
A retired military officer, Dr. Anthony Williams brings more than 24 years of leadership experience in training and development, organizational management and team leadership. Throughout a distinguished career in the United States Army, he demonstrated exceptional achievement in military service, education, and community involvement. He currently serves as a General Education Instructor for the Defense Logistics Agency, where he specializes in leadership development training for military and civilian personnel. His passion for continuous, lifelong education remains a central focus of his work.
The event will also feature keynote remarks from Dr. Heidi Ries, a 2022 inductee into Ohio State Marion's Alumni Hall of Fame. Recently retired as Provost and Chief Academic Officer of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Dr. Heidi Ries completed 26 years of distinguished service at the institution. A nationally recognized leader in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, she has received numerous honors, including the Air Force Civilian Outstanding Career Service Award, the Air Force Meritorious Civilian Service Award, and recognition as one of the Dayton region's Top Ten Women.
The Alumni Hall of Fame Awards Dinner is open to alumni, faculty, staff, friends, and community members who wish to celebrate the accomplishments of Ohio State Marion alumni and leaders.
