The Ohio State University at Marion is pleased to announce the hiring of Janey Arnold as its new coordinator of career services. Arnold officially began with the university, Monday, January 7, 2019.
Arnold will be working with college students one-on-one and in groups to coordinate efforts in the areas of career planning, internships, and job opportunities. She will also be working with faculty and campus administration to spearhead a collaborative effort on how to best serve the students in career planning moving forward.
“I am excited to be working here and looking forward to the new direction we are taking career services and what that will mean for the students here at Ohio State Marion,” said Arnold.
Prior to beginning at Ohio State Marion, she served as a counselor in the Gear-Up Marion program for the past three and a half years. During her time at Gear-Up she met with Marion City School students in grades 7-12 to do college and career planning.
Arnold earned her undergraduate degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Masters of Athletic Administration from Ohio University.
Arnold is not a stranger to working in the field of higher education. She previously served as head cross country, track and field coach, academic advisor, associate athletic director at Blufton University and in a similar capacity at both Ohio Wesleyan University and Ohio University.
Originally from Norwood, MA, she is a transplant to central Ohio, residing in Upper Sandusky with her husband for the past fifteen years.
