About this event

Join Kate Shannon, Ohio State’s 2025–26 Artist Laureate, and Robert Klips, Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology, for a hands-on cyanotype workshop at Ohio State Marion’s Larry R. Yoder Prairie Learning Laboratory. The cyanotype is a simple 19th-century photographic process that uses sunlight and water to produce vibrant blue images. After a brief walk-and-talk about the prairie, participants will collect natural materials and compose their own camera-less prints using the process. All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary!

The event will be located at the Prairie Shelter House, with parking at Student Lot 3 (behind the science building). Visit the prarie’s website for directions: Larry R. Yoder Prarie Learning Laboratory

Questions can be directed to Professor Kate Shannon @ shannon.112@osu.edu
