“The best dramatic performance focused on the topic of PTSD I have ever witnessed…”
Peter Mansoor, Lt. Colonel, Army (Retired), Author of Baghdad at Sunrise: A Brigade Commander's War in Iraq
"Scrap Heap left such an indelible mark that I watched it twice ... a mesmerizing performance ..."
Genevieve Chase, Veteran, Founder of American Women Veterans
Professional actor and Ohio State University Artist Laureate Kevin McClatchy, in collaboration with Ohio State Marion, present a screening of Scrap Heap, a filmed theatre performance that tells the true story of a Special Forces veteran and his transition from service to civilian.
Scrap Heap is a turbulent, darkly funny whiplash tour that examines the costs of war and explores the reality of what we ask of service members. Immediately following the screening veterans from the Marion community will guide a post-show conversation. These conversations are an opportunity to communalize experiences, dismantle myths and cultivate empathy and understanding.
