Welcome to The Ohio State University. I say that intentionally. Yes, this is The Ohio State University at Marion, but we are, first and foremost, The Ohio State University. While we deliver the Ohio State product in a smaller, more intimate setting, it is 100% Ohio State, with all the rigor, all the research, and all the quality that you would expect from the state’s top-ranked public university.
Our professors are members of their Ohio State departments. They participate in the research required of Ohio State professors and, across the board, they bring that research into the classroom. In fact, students here often participate in research that will soon be published in academic journals. Our faculty and our students are making a difference.
While you can begin any of Ohio State’s over 200 majors here, seven can be completed on this campus, with more 4-year programs on the way. Also, Ohio State Marion offers the first full year of coursework towards an Ohio State degree in engineering and select second-year course offerings in the areas of computer science engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, in addition to growing the general education curriculum for engineering.
While quality is high, costs are not. Our tuition is just 71 percent of the tuition you’d pay in Columbus. And it is far less than you’ll find at private colleges. Yet, our student/professor ratio is comparable to a small liberal arts university. Average class size is 21 with no more than 35 in any class. With more scholarship help available than any other regional campus in Ohio (on average $1.2 million annually), Ohio State Marion offers one of the best educational bargains in the country.
At Ohio State Marion, you’ll find a beautiful campus, new student housing, top quality professors, and some of the best friends you’ll make in your lifetime. You’ll be part of one of the premier institutions of higher learning in the country. You’ll be a Buckeye. Welcome to Ohio State.
