Officially formed in autumn 2016, Ohio State Marion's Rotaract student group has adopted service as its core mission. The group wasted no time rolling up its sleeves to help others by cleaning and prepping community garden boxes at Marion City Schools for the long winter.

Ohio State Marion, Professor Emeritus, Dr. Mary Jo Fresch (College of Education and Human Ecology) was recently selected to serve as a faculty fellow for Ohio State’s newly formed University Institute for Teaching and Learning.

The legacy left by a Marion woman, who once worked for Huber Manufacturing, means that work will begin on a new walking/bike trail around the Marion campus and will put her name on the organic chemistry lab in the new Ohio State Marion science and engineering building now under construction.

The burgeoning relationship between Ohio State Marion and Sakamura is the kind of win, win relationship the campus would like to foster. Ohio State Marion is helping Sakamura grow as a company. Sakamura is helping Ohio State Marion students expand job skills and experiential learning, while also making an investment in Ohio State Marion's new Science and Engineering Building. The two entities combined are contributing to Marion's growth as a 21st century economy.
