The Ohio State University at Marion welcomed former Whirlpool leader Catherine Gerber as its new director of development and community relations, beginning Monday, July 29, 2019.
Ohio State Marion Associate Professor of English, Dr. Ben McCorkle and his co-author Miami University Associate Professor of English, Dr. Jason Palmeri were recently recognized by two scholarly organizations for outstanding digital production based on a review and analysis of the use of technology in English teaching over a 100-year period.
U.S. President Warren G. Harding’s election in November of 1920 was the first in which American women could vote, following passage of the Nineteenth Amendment. And vote, they did, swelling voter rolls from 18.5 million in 1916 to 26.8 million in 1920. Harding and his running mate, Calvin Coolidge won in a landslide victory, 60.3 percent of the vote against fellow Ohioan James Cox and Franklin Roosevelt’s 34.1 percent.

Katie Fusek, a double major in history and English at Ohio State Marion was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society at Ohio State in April.

Junior psychology major Nathan Baker is making the most of his undergraduate experience at Ohio State Marion. The Mount Gilead, Ohio native recently returned from presenting at one of the biggest developmental psychology conferences in the world, the Society for Research on Childhood Development conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
