Students in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology program at The Ohio State University at Marion have been awarded Choose Ohio First Scholarships to help offset the costs of earning their degrees in the high demand field of engineering.

After the pencils were put down and the calculators were put away, local high school students were awarded $18,000 in scholarships from Marion Technical College and The Ohio State University at Marion. A total of 113 students from six area schools (Elgin, Harding, North Union, Pleasant, Ridgedale, and River Valley) came to the Marion campus to test their math prowess in the annual OSU MTC Marion Math Challenge.
The “In My Own Words” freshman writing series continued this semester, highlighting the moving student stories we so often encounter in the writing classroom. Started in 2012, “In My Own Words” showcases exemplary narrative writing in freshman composition courses, including English 1109 and 1110.

The Ohio State University at Marion was well represented at Pelotonia the weekend of August 6-8 as eight people from the campus came together to raise over $10,000 for cancer research during this year’s ride to raise research funds for Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.
