President Walter "Ted" Carter's "Education for Citizenship 2035" initiative has inspired hope among some students at Ohio State's regional campuses. During the Sept. 17 State of the University address, Carter announced a new plan in which regional campus students from families who have an adjusted gross income of $100,000 or lower will get their tuition and fees covered once they transfer to Columbus. It's called the Regional Campus Commitment scholarship, per prior Lantern reporting.

Upper Sandusky High School senior Lucas Alspach was named Scholar Student of the Week, receiving a $500 scholarship from The Ohio State University at Marion for his excellence in academics, FFA leadership, and three-sport athletics.

First Gen Friday is a monthly first-person narrative written by other first generation college students who are now fellow faculty, staff, and students at Ohio State Marion. The goal of the stories is to provide advice to other first generation college students and create a sense of belonging among the campus community.

Sydney Sullivan, a junior business administration major at Ohio State Marion with a minor in American Sign Language (ASL), spent three transformative weeks this summer immersed in Deaf culture and language in Siena, Italy. From June 7–28, 2025, Sullivan participated in a Deaf Studies program through the Siena School of Liberal Arts as part of Ohio State’s Second-Year Transformational Experience Program (STEP).

Cardington-Lincoln High School senior Wyatt Denney was named Ohio State Marion Scholar Student of the Week and awarded a $500 scholarship for his outstanding 3.90 GPA and achievements as a three-sport athlete in football, wrestling, and baseball.
