Research and Innovation
Each year, a growing number of baccalaureate degree seeking students on campus are in the unique position to work directly with faculty experts on real world research. Taking part in research as an undergraduate student is somewhat unique for smaller colleges and universities across the country. These opportunities are more commonplace at Ohio State Marion and stem from a couple of key factors that make Ohio State’s regional campuses a valuable educational commodity.

Ohio State Marion junior biology major Wesley Bush was recently named a Pelotonia Undergraduate Scholar by The James Comprehensive Cancer Center at Ohio State. The award is the seventh such honor since 2018 for Ohio State students working with Ohio State Marion faculty research mentors.

A Warren G. Harding Symposium Award of a $1000 scholarship will be presented to an Ohio State Marion student who submits an original essay of 1000 words or less based upon the theme of the annual Warren G. Harding Symposium. The winner will be selected by a committee composed of Ohio State Marion staff and Harding Symposium event leaders, based on following criteria: theme topic adherence, creativity, insights and perspectives and composition.

Students from Elgin, Grant, Highland, North Union, Pleasant and River Valley Middle Schools visited the Marion campus, Friday, May 2 to test their math skills in the Annual Math Challenge, hosted jointly by Marion Technical College and The Ohio State University at Marion.

Engineering Technology
In May of 2020, The Ohio State University Board of Trustees voted to approve a new major in engineering technology through the College of Engineering to be offered on Ohio State’s regional campuses. Four short years later, that original vision has come to fruition. A group of Ohio State Marion students will be among the first ever to earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology university-wide during spring semester commencement.
