After the pencils were put down and the calculators were put away, local high school students were awarded $18,000 in scholarships to attend The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College. 105 students from six area schools (Elgin, Harding, Highland, North Union, Pleasant, and River Valley) came to the Marion campus to test their math prowess in the annual OSUM/MTC Marion Math Challenge.

Engineering
As we approach the season of giving, Ohio State Marion sophomore electrical engineering major Ethan Kessler is thankful he chose to attend an Ohio State regional campus for a multitude of reasons. Primary among those is the ability to adjust to college by attending a smaller regional campus and the ability to focus on his education without the worry of debt thanks to being awarded the Wm. Kay Davis Excellence Scholarship.

The Ohio State University at Marion’s Five Nights on Campus performing arts series welcomes the British and American trio MidAtlantic Men to campus as part of the U.S. leg of their 2024 tour, Thursday, November 14, 7:30 p.m. in Morill Hall Auditorium.

The Ohio State University at Marion welcomed new staff member Lauren Pullins to campus Monday, November 4, 2024. Pullins will serve as the campus’s disability services coordinator in the Office for Disability Services.

The Ohio State University has selected Jennifer Schlueter as its next dean and director of The Ohio State University at Marion, effective March 17, 2025, pending approval by the Board of Trustees. An accomplished academic administrator, teacher, performance maker and producer, Schlueter currently serves as the vice provost of academic affairs at The New School in New York City, where she also holds a faculty appointment in the university’s School of Drama.
