Professional actor and Ohio State Artist Laureate Kevin McClatchy, in collaboration with The Ohio State University at Marion, will present a screening of the film Scrap Heap, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 6 - 8 p.m. at The Ohio State University at Marion, Morrill Hall Auditorium, Room 100.

The Ohio State University Advancement Donor Experience department presented Ohio State Marion Community Relations Program Coordinator, Jodi Somerlot with the department’s Care and Compassion Award during the campus’s all staff meeting Wednesday, January 8, 2025, in Maynard Hall’s Guthery Community Room.

The Ohio State University at Marion Office of Student Success Programming will hold a series of academic growth workshops during spring semester 2025 titled "Student Success Workshops successive Wednesdays in the Library Classroom Building Library Learning Center beginning January 15 through February 26, 2025.

Tuesday, January 14, 5:30 p.m. is the inaugural lecture featuring Ohio State Marion Assistant Professor of Physics, Dr. Chris Orban who will present a lecture entitled, The Science Behind an Unforgettable Year in Backyard Astronomy. Dr. Orban will share his perspective on these events and explain how the sun’s 11-year cycle of magnetic activity made it especially memorable. 

First Gen Friday is a monthly first-person narrative written by other first generation college students who are now fellow faculty, staff, and students at Ohio State Marion. The goal of the stories is to provide advice to other first generation college students and create a sense of belonging among the campus community.

The Ohio State University and engineering are a big part of the Peters family of Marion, Ohio and synonymous with a father and son who followed similar paths through Ohio State Marion to an Ohio State degree in engineering and successful career positions.

After the pencils were put down and the calculators were put away, local high school students were awarded $18,000 in scholarships to attend The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College.  105 students from six area schools (Elgin, Harding, Highland, North Union, Pleasant, and River Valley) came to the Marion campus to test their math prowess in the annual OSUM/MTC Marion Math Challenge.
