The Ohio State University Board of Trustees approved the naming of internal spaces within the new Ohio State University Marion Science and Engineering Building during their June 2017 meeting.

Associate Professor of Mathematics, Dr. Christian Friesen of Delaware, Ohio and Education Lecturer, Patricia Muir of Granville, Ohio, were awarded the Marion Campus Teaching Award during the 46th Annual Academic Recognition Ceremony April 20 at Ohio State Marion’s Morrill Hall Auditorium.

Ohio State Marion Biology Lecturer, Dr. Dan Wojta was named winner of the 2017 Griffin Honor Society Teaching Award for Associated Faculty during the April 20, 2017 46th Annual Ohio State Marion Academic Recognition Ceremony held in Morrill Hall Auditorium.

The Annual Academic Recognition Program publicly recognizes Ohio State Marion students, faculty, and others, who through scholastic achievement, personify the concept of academic excellence and bring honor to The Ohio State University. Special thanks go to the staff, faculty, students, and members of the community who served on various selection committees and to those who assisted in the planning of this program. The Ohio State University Marion Citizens’ Advisory Council initiated this program in 1972. The continued support of this program by The Ohio State University Marion Board of Trustees is appreciated.

The Academy of Eating Disorders recently named Ohio State Marion Professor of Psychology, Dr. Tracy Tylka an academy fellow.

The Ohio State University at Marion invites the community to attend the 45th Annual Norman Thomas Memorial Lecture, Tuesday, April 11th, 12 p.m., in Maynard Hall's Guthery Community Room on the Marion campus. This year’s guest speaker is Senior Policy Director at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Mike Brickner. Brickner will present a lecture entitled, “Civil Liberties in the Age of Trump.”

The United Way of Marion County awarded The Ohio State University at Marion’s Pay It Forward Program with its Community Partner Award at the organization’s Annual Meeting and Celebration, held Wednesday, March 15, 2017.

Ohio State Marion freshman Trent Ramsey knows a thing or two about overcoming adversity. When he was just 10-years-old, his father suffered a heart attack, leaving his mother to raise him and his older brother on her own. Like many single parent households, Ramsey’s family did not have a lot of disposable income or any type of college savings plan. This did not stop him from pursuing his dreams.
