STEM Summer Camp for High School Students

>> Registration is Now Open! <<

June 12-16, 2023

The STEM Summer Camp program is a week long day camp that focuses on a broad sampling of relevant science and engineering topics. Camp attendees will experience multidisciplinary projects working with Ohio State Marion faculty in math, chemistry, biology, physics, and engineering.

Campers will exercise their critical thinking skills during problem solving sessions focusing on building boats a volunteer must pilot across the YMCA swimming pool. Participants will work collaboratively in teams to build and program robots to ultimately compete in a team challenge. Students will experience inquiry-based learning in OSU science labs during biochemistry sessions simulating blood-typing and the study of inherited diseases. Campers will also experience hands-on activities in the field as they examine macroinvertebrates during a wetlands fieldtrip, and take a tour of the Orton Geological Museum. All students that participate during the full duration of the camp will receive a Certificate of Successful Completion from The Ohio State University at Marion.
