Recent graduate hired to oversee disability services testing on campus

The Ohio State University at Marion welcomed new staff member Kiersten Spiegel to campus Monday, January 5, 2026.  Spiegel will coordinate testing services for students receiving accommodations through the Office for Disability Services. 

The Office for Disability Services provides confidential support services, auxiliary aids, and accommodations for students with disabilities that allow them to gain equal access to education. 

Spiegel is a native of Marion, Ohio, graduating from Marion Harding High School and attending Ohio State Marion all four years of her undergraduate degree.  During her time at Ohio State Marion, she served in a temporary role as biological lab preparer, she was student trustee to the campus advisory board, and a consummate researcher alongside Ohio State Marion Professor of Chemistry, Ryan Yoder.

Spiegel earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from The Ohio State University and future plans include pursuing her master’s degree at Ohio State and attending medical school.

“I am looking forward to the challenges and rewards this position offers. I am eager to bring new ideas to campus with new leadership implementing fresh ideas, it is an exciting time to be part of the staff at Ohio State Marion,” said Spiegel. “I understand the value of making things accessible to students to enable their success and look forward to working with each student.”

Spiegel is recently newlywed, marrying fellow Buckeye Kameron Spiegel.  The two reside in Marion with their dog Butter and enjoy cooking from scratch at home, reading and traveling.
