Internationally renowned pianist Kiryayeva returns to campus for encore performance

Professional concert pianist and chamber musician Alina Kiryayeva returns to the Five Nights on Campus stage in Morrill Hall Auditorium for her third solo performance on the Marion campus, Thursday, November 10, 7:30 p.m

Globally renowned for her potent command of the instrument, her unique interpretations and innovative programming, she has been praised for enchanting audiences with philosophical insight and charismatic stage presence.

A native of Ukraine, Kiryayeva has performed in more than a dozen countries including the United States, Russia, Mexico, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland and Japan. She has performed with the Kharkov State Philharmonic and State Opera Theatre Orchestras, the Imperial Valley Symphony Orchestra, the New York Symphonic Ensemble Orchestra, and on stage in Carnegie Hall, the Morse Recital Hall, on the Concerto Takes Manhattan Series at Yamaha Hall, the Smithsonian Museum and the Library of Congress.

Kiryayeva gave her first solo recital at age eight and her solo debut with an orchestra at age eleven. She is one of a few classical pianists that completed both bachelor and master’s degrees at The Juilliard School of Music on full scholarship. She was also awarded the Fannie Gottlieb-Harkavi Scholarship and Susan Rose Piano Scholarship. Other awards include: First Prize winner of Italy’s Senigallia International Competition, and top prizes in the Grace Welsh International Competition and the California Young Artist International Competition. Kiryayeva has been honored in her native Ukraine with the State Award for Achievements in Arts.

All Five Nights on Campus performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall Auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m. All tickets are general seating. Individual and season tickets are now available. Ticket prices remain unchanged for the upcoming year. Individual performances are priced at $10 general admission, $9 for seniors (60 and up), $4 for students, (grades k-12, and college), and $8 for campus faculty and staff.
