Teri Kinsway awarded new instructor of the year by MHFA

Ohio State Marion Social Work Program Manager selected as 2023 Ohio Mental Health First Aid New Instructor of the Year

Cincinnati, OH (May 25, 2023):  At the Ohio Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)Summit held earlier this month in Columbus, Teri Kinsway, Ohio State Marion Social Work Program Manager and School Social Work License Program Coordinator for Ohio State, was awarded the New MHFA Instructor of the Year for 2023. 

Kinsway lives in Delaware, Ohio, and was first invited to become an adult instructor last year and then only after a few months, was invited to become a youth instructor as well. She has provided training for over 30 years on topics such as child abuse/neglect, parenting, building relationships, and working with people who are seeking help in problem-solving which made her a perfect fit to become a MHFA instructor. 

About Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
Mental Health First Aid, an evidence-based program adopted by over twenty countries, is a rigorous training that teaches an individual how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. A hands-on training, participants learn to respond to an individual in need utilizing a five-step action plan. To date, over 3 million people across the country have been certified in Mental Health First Aid.
