SCHOLARSHIP NOTIFICATION, CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

For the first time, a Warren G. Harding Symposium Award of a $1000 scholarship will be presented to an Ohio State Marion student who submits an original essay of 1000 words or less based upon the theme of the annual Warren G. Harding Symposium. The winner will be selected by a committee composed of Ohio State Marion faculty and staff based on following criteria: Theme Topic Adherence, Creativity, Insights and Perspectives, and Composition.

The theme for the 2020 Warren G. Harding Symposium is America in 1920: The Year of Warren G. Harding. The focus is on 1920, the year that our nation’s attention turned to Marion, Ohio during the famous “front porch” campaign of Senator Warren G. Harding. One hundred years later, Marion will again be at center stage as we celebrate the centennial of Harding’s successful campaign and highlight his White House legacy.

Applications will be accepted beginning on Friday, September 4th and the deadline for submission will be on Friday, September 18th. The essays should be submitted to Emily Creasap at creasap.27@osu.edu. The winner will be notified on Friday, September 25th and will be announced at the live, two-hour Warren G. Harding Symposium webinar event hosted on Zoom at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020.
