In the Room, on the Board, in the Parade
Institutional partnership is an abstraction. Board service is a Tuesday night.
Right now, Ohio State Marion faculty and staff serve on boards and committees across this community, including Downtown Marion Inc., Let's Read 20, the Marion Women's Club and Home, the Marion Palace Theatre, Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club, and the YMCA. They also actively support the work of groups like the North Central Ohio Pollinator Pathway. That service is real labor, done on personal time, and it's how this campus becomes truly embedded rather than merely located in Marion.
We also show up in the more visible ways. You'll find us at Third Thursdays downtown, in the Popcorn Festival Parade, at Rotary, and at a long list of ribbon cuttings, fundraisers, and community meetings that never make a newsletter.
