ACT Training Workshop Offered
Saturday, October 16, at The Ohio State University at Marion’s Morrill Hall, Room 160
To help students achieve higher ACT scores, the I CAN Center of Excellence is conducting a six-hour workshop for Marion and surrounding counties on Saturday, October 16, 2010 on the campus of The Ohio State University at Marion, Morrill Hall Room 160. Cost is $40 in advance or $60 at the door. This is a comprehensive, intensive ACT workshop offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an hour off for lunch. Space is limited.
Michael Short, ACT trainer and tutor, will teach the workshop. He is a seasoned instructor who has mastered the ACT test, has taken the test dozens of times, and consistently scores in the 99th percentile. The workshop agenda includes reviewing the components of the test, understanding directions, stress reduction, quick ideas, general test taking strategies, specific test taking strategies and the opportunity for questions.
As students achieve higher ACT scores, they can expect to receive higher financial aid packages from colleges where they apply and also improve their opportunities for being accepted by their first-choice colleges.
Applications for the workshop were previously provided through high school guidance counselors.
