Marion Rugby Club wins Teapot Dome Rugby Scandal

MARION - The Marion Rugby Club now has the championship it had been seeking for a long time.
The Marion squad won the Teapot Dome Rugby Scandal, an event it has hosted for 29 years, for the first time by beating Findlay 38-7 on Saturday in the title match.
The annual event was held at The Ohio State University at Marion-Marion Technical College fields.
Stan Gibson scored a pair of tries to power Marion in its last match. Paul White, Mike Campbell, Andrew Ciccolini and Caley Brooks also tallied tries while Rick March scored four conversions.
In earlier matches, Marion drilled Youngstown 34-0 and defeated Canton 36-13.
Brooks and Gibson both contributed two tries in the win over Youngstown while D.J. Weatherby and Josh White each tallied one. March notched a pair of conversions.
Gibson and Josh White had two tries apiece in the victory over Canton. Ciccolini and March added one try each, March hit for two conversions and Brooks tallied one conversion.
The Scioto Valley team from Columbus won the women's division crown with a 45-10 triumph over Ohio Northern University in that championship game.
