The Ohio State University at Marion is pleased to present the hilarious smash Broadway musical production, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Thursday, April 29 & Friday April 30, 7:30 p.m. in Morrill Hall Auditorium. This hit musical originally opened at the off-Broadway Second Stage Theatre and has packed theatres across the country since. “The Bee” follows the journey of six awkwardly intelligent children who set out to make the National Spelling Bee, and through each speller’s unique personality quirks and audience interaction the laughter ensues throughout.

The cast is a tight knit group of talented local actors including: Joni Carlson as Marcy Park, John Garnes as Mitch Mahoney (also Dan Dad and Olive’s Dad), Charles Groth as William Barfée, Andy Harper as Vice Principal Douglas Panch, Nathan Haubert as Leaf Coneybear (also Carl Dad), Wayne Rowe as Chip Tolentino (also Jesus), Amanda Sterling as Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre, Julia Vanderhoff as Rona Lisa Peretti (also Olive’s Mom), and Kristi Wink as Olive Ostrovsky.
