Brooklyn Beard

I'm Brooklynn Beard, and I'm a sophomore on campus this year. I am pursuing a degree in Middle Childhood Education, core subjects being math and science. I've fallen in love with my American Sign Language classes and I have become a member in many clubs and organizations on campus, such as Undergraduate Student Government, CCO Campus Ministries, University Chorus and Orientation Leading. I also have recently taken up employment working in admissions where I am constantly meeting new students, welcoming them and giving campus tours. I am an active leader on our camps and a role model for the students around me. I admit that I am nervous, but excited for what the future holds while I finish out my degree here at The Ohio State University at Marion, impacting as many students as I can through positive attitude and shining light.

Ay’Drean Duke

I am Ay’Drean Duke, a freshman here at OSUM. Currently I am double majoring in both Psychology and Science and Mathematics Education. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Villa Angela-St Joseph High School. I was previously a captain and cheerleader of our State champion cheer team! Go Vikes! I am the middle child of two. I have an older sister DeAydra (21) who attends main campus and a younger brother Brett (11) who is in the 5th grade. My family is actively involved in education. My mother, Angela, is a director at Tri-C Community College and my father figure, Brett, is both the head basketball coach and teacher at East Technical High School. Just as cheerleading influenced my obsession with glitter and makeup, my family influenced my aspiration of being an upcoming teacher. At OSUM I am one step closer to my passion of being an educator and I cannot wait to help nurture and grow the minds of my future students!

Hannah Fuller

Hi there! My name is Hannah Fuller. I was born and raised here in Marion county and graduated with a +4.0 GPA and honors from Elgin High School in 2014. Currently, I’m a Buckeye here at Ohio State Marion majoring in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies. You may have seen me around in Academic Enrichment tutoring writing at the front desk and Admissions /Financial Aid in Maynard helping students to have the best college experience they can! One of my favorite things about OSU Marion are the opportunities students have on this campus! I’ve found other fun ways to get involved like our annual Ohio State Marion musical, community theatre at the Palace here in Marion, being published in The Cornfield Review here on campus, and winning Spring 2016’s Digital Media Composition award with my short film: “18.” Other than fun extracurriculars, I’m also the Vice-President of Undergraduate Student Government, an active leader of Ohio State Marion’s honors-social outreach program The Griffin Society, a volunteer at Harding High School as an English tutor, and I enjoy introducing new students to not only Ohio State Marion but to the college experience. This spring I’m also looking forward to participating in my honors research thesis with middle childhood literature in the classroom and on campus. I’ve also been serving on the Marion Popcorn court as 1st Runner Up and as a member of OSU Marion’s Homecoming Court. I’m looking forward to the rest of my studies and time here on the OSU Marion campus. O-H…!

Taylor Hightower

I am currently a Senior majoring in Social Work and minoring in Psychology. I have always had a passion for people and a passion to help others so I feel as though I have found my calling. I would consider myself to be a very social and outgoing so being here at this campus as a Buckeye and being so active on campus has helped me in more ways than I ever thought possible. When I began my college career I was on my way to another university when I got some bad news that later turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. My life as a Buckeye has been such a blessing and an adventure. I have grown so much being at Ohio State and every year it is like I grow a little more and get even more opportunities. I have my job in admissions, I am the president of the Social Work Club, I have been on the homecoming court, I get to participate and be a part of events on campus and events in the community, I am a familiar face on campus to so many students, staff, and even faculty, I am also in a field placement working in an elementary school. I have gotten great opportunities and have had the chance to meet people that would not even be possible had I gone to another school. I am active on the Marion campus and even on the Columbus campus because I want to fully embrace being a Buckeye. I have been through so much and to be able to look back on all that I have accomplished as a student, an employee, and as a Buckeye, has been one of the biggest blessings greatest adventure in my life.
