Parking & Getting In

There is far more parking downtown than people believe — a point downtown Marion’s own business owners have made for years. The last formal count (2006) found roughly 1,850 spaces in the walkable historic district: 300 on-street, 459 in public lots, and 1,091 in private lots that open after 5 p.m. What’s missing isn’t spaces. It’s knowing where they are.

  • Downtown Marion, Inc. parking & district map — the friendliest overview
  • [LINK: Regional Planning Commission downtown parking map] — the official, detailed version
  • In addition to parking visible on those maps, Downtown Engagement Hub visitors can also park for free in the private lot behind 156 N Main St (20 spots)
  • Accessible parking is available directly in front of 146 N. Main.

Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday — 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We’re starting small and honestly: three days, a door that’s reliably open when we say it will be. When it’s open, walk in. You don’t need an appointment, and you don’t need a reason. Special events will be happening at a wide variety or times. Watch our calendar for more. (Full accessibility details in the FAQ — we take that as seriously as we take parking, and for the same reason.)
