University promotes Marion campus officer

Marion Campus Public Safety Supervisor Jason Becker was promoted to the rank of sergeant by The Ohio State University Department of Public Safety during an official department Badge Ceremony held November 9, in Maynard Hall’s Guthery Community Room.

Law enforcement representatives from the university police department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and Marion County Sherriff’s Department; family; colleagues from Ohio State Marion, Marion Technical College, and Ohio State’s Columbus campus were on hand to witness the Badge presentation conducted by OSU Police Chief Paul Denton, with additional remarks of support provided by OSU Department of Public Safety Director, Vernon Baisden and Ohio State Marion Dean & Director, Gregory S. Rose.

Becker has served as public safety supervisor for the Marion regional campus since July 2, 2007. He works to serve the interests of both Marion Technical College and Ohio State Marion in his current position. Prior to his job on the Marion campus, he served as a law enforcement officer for the city of Boseman, Montana.
