Summer learning adventures; students wanted

News Release Date:

Ohio State Marion’s Kids’ College offers 7-12 year olds a summer escape into learning

Ohio State Marion’s annual summer youth program Kids’ College, sponsored by Time Warner Cable, offers three weeks of interactive, four-day summer learning experiences: June 20-23, June 27-30, and July 11-14. Course offerings for this year include: Science Rocks, Why Art?, Computer Camp, Amazing Adventures (geography), Alley-Oop, Collision Cars™(LEGO’s), Psychology for Kids, Kings of the Board (chess), and CSI…Marion.

Offering summer enrichment experiences is the ongoing goal of Kids’ College. The program is designed to expand the horizons of adventurous children from ages 7 to 12 by introducing them to higher education and the college campus. This unique program encourages area youth to learn about the world around them.

The program has been offered to the children of Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Marion, Morrow, Union, and Wyandot counties since 1999.

Class fees are reduced for three or more registrations from one family. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available for those students who are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program. If students are enrolled in two classes in the same week, there will be a supervised break between sessions, and a box lunch will be provided (however, children with special dietary needs must bring their own lunches). Class size is limited, so early enrollment is encouraged. Sessions are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
