Earth Sciences 1100 - Planet Earth: How it Works

Dr. Joel Barker, 3 credit hours

The course title says it all. Intended as an introduction to the diverse field of the Earth Sciences, students will learn the fundamentals of how planet Earth works. From the Big Bang to 21st century climate change; from the highest mountain peaks to the deepest ocean trenches; from volcanoes to hurricanes; students will walk away with an appreciation of what makes the our planetary home such an interesting and habitable place.
