How to Schedule an Appointment

Advising Home

To Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor:

  • Call the Marion Advising Office at (740) 725-6334 or the Delaware partnership campus at (614) 247-9001. You can also stop by Maynard Hall Room 100 or the student services desk at the Delaware campus to schedule an appointment. *Note that Advisors do not take same day appointments.
  • Advising hours are available between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday-Friday. Evening hours may be avilable with your advisor upon request.
  • All Advisors have advising schedules at Delaware during the quarter for student appointments. Those dates and times are posted at the Advising reception area in Delaware for students to view and plan appointments.
  • When you schedule your appointment you will be asked for your major area of study and the reason that you need to see your Advisor. Please be as detailed as possible with this information to allow your Advisor to prepare in advance for your appointment.
  • If you are unable to attend your appointment please contact the Advising office as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment so another student may use the time.
  • Bring a list of questions and related materials to the appointment. It is recommended that you bring a current Advising Report and Degree Audit Report to each appointment.(You will access these in your Student Center). If you are seeking help with course selection, have a prepared list of courses you will need and/or interested in scheduling in future quarters.

What if I need to see an Advisor before I can get an appointment?

  • Because Academic Advisors do not take same day appointments there are walk-in hours available twice weekly.
  • Walk in hours for winter quarter, 2012 in Marion and Delaware, are Mondays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and Thursdays from 9:00am to Noon.
  • During walk-in hours, you will have 15 minutes with an advisor. Your advisor of record may not be available that day, and you will speak with another Advisor.
  • Walk-in hours are intended to assist with quick questions. This is not a time for detailed issues such as planning for graduation or campus change. If more time is needed, a follow up appointment will be scheduled with your Advisor of record.
In addition, you are encouraged to leave a message for your Advisor in the Advising Office, Room 100 Maynard Hall either in person or by phone. Your Advisor will call or email you back as soon as possible. You may also call or email your Advisor directly. Email addresses for all Advisors are located on the home page for Academic Advising .
