Ohio State University's "Lake Erie Campus"
Tuesday, April 6, 2010
Stone Laboratory, Ohio State University's Lake Erie campus in Put-in-Bay, is the oldest freshwater biological field station in the country, founded in 1895.
The lab serves as a base for more than 65 researchers from 12 agencies and academic institutions, all working year-round to solve the most pressing problems facing the Great Lakes.
Every year hundreds of college classes, aquatic science workshop groups, conferences and tours are conducted during the open season of April through October.
John Hageman is the Education and Outreach Manager at Stone Laboratory. In this Science Café, he will discuss some of the research being conducted at Stone Lab and some of the opportunities for college classes, workshops, and tours.
Here is an audio recording of this science cafe in mp3 format.
