The Ohio State University Board of Trustees has approved promotion to associate professor with tenure for Chris Daddis, effective October 1, 2011.

The Ohio State University Board of Trustees has approved their promotion to associate professor with tenure for Derek Heng, effective October 1, 2011.

The Ohio State University Board of Trustees has approved their promotion to associate professor with tenure for John Maharry, effective October 1, 2011.

The Ohio State University Board of Trustees has approved their promotion to associate professor with tenure for Ben McCorkle, effective October 1, 2011.

Ohio State Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching 

One of the university's highest honors for faculty members, the Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching honors faculty members for superior teaching. Recipients are nominated by present and former students and colleagues and are chosen by a committee of alumni, students, and faculty. They receive a cash award of $3000, made possible by contributions from the Alumni Association, friends of Ohio State, and the Office of Academic Affairs. They also receive a $1,200 increase in their base salaries from the Office of Academic Affairs. The recipients will be inducted into the university's Academy of Teaching, which provides leadership for the improvement of teaching at Ohio State.

Ohio State Distinguished Staff Awards

The Distinguished Staff Award recognizes 12 staff members annually who have had five years of continuous service for exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and service to the university community by significantly improving or enhancing the quality of worklife in ways that make a substantial difference for their colleagues; contributing to outstanding and sustained improvements in customer services; and developing creative solutions to problems that result in significantly more effective and efficient university operations. The Office of Human Resources awards honorees a $1,500 cash award and a $700 increase to their base salary.

Ohio State Distinguished Service Awards

The Distinguished Service Award was established by the Board of Trustees in 1952 to recognize individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the university. Awards are not made on the basis of long, faithful, or loyal service alone, but rather for service that is truly distinguished. Recipients of this award have provided a broad spectrum of services to the university in both official and unofficial capacities.
