Ohio State Marion Academic Advisor, Sharon Gattshall was recently presented a plaque honoring her as the recipient of the 2020 Ohio State Marion Outstanding Staff Award.

Gattshall has been at Ohio State Marion for the past fifteen years. Prior to that she worked for The Ohio State University Extension Office. She is no stranger to the Marion campus, having taken all her undergraduate coursework at Ohio State Marion and graduating with a degree in psychology.

Gattshall currently advises students majoring in early childhood education, middle childhood education, child and youth studies, and special education.

According to Gattshall, the honor means even more to her this year because of the extraordinary circumstances the entire campus community has gone through due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With this year and how hard it is and how hard it is to do our jobs,” said Gattshall, “I feel honored to be named Outstanding Staff when everyone has doubled and tripled their efforts. It is even more special this year with everyone deserving.”

The Ohio State University at Marion Outstanding Staff Award is presented to one Marion campus staff member annually in recognition of exceptional accomplishments, leadership, and/or service to the campus over the past year. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to nominate above and beyond traditional work assignments.
