Ohio State Marion students Skyler Vogt and Nichole Pauley were awarded $50 prizes for creating the two best research presentation posters in Sue Oakes's second-year spring semester writing classes during an evening reception, on Wednesday, April 16th.

Approximately 90 community members attended the ninety-minute come-and-go reception, where the research posters were displayed, and students -- as well as some of their interviewees -- were able to talk with community members interested in their projects.

The public event was held in the Guthery Community Room, Maynard Hall on the Marion campus. Attendees included six visitors from Nucor Steel, four guests from the Huber Museum, three individuals from the Marion Convention and Visitors' Bureau, and members of Marion Rotary Club, among many other friends and family; faculty, staff, and students.

Vogt's and Pauley's posters were chosen by a team of judges made up of Ohio State Marion Associate Dean Bishun Pandey (mathematics), Professors Stuart Lishan and Ben McCorkle (English), and Director of Communications & Marketing Wayne Rowe (communications & marketing).
