Free public closing reception set for June 1, 4-6 p.m.

The annual Ohio State Marion Fine Arts Student Show is currently on display at the Wayne & Geraldine Kuhn Fine Arts Gallery, located in Morrill Hall May 9-June 3, 2011. This is an exhibition showcasing student artwork from the 2010- 2011 academic year.

“Top works form students enrolled in art classes over the course of the year were selected by their instructors to be displayed in the show”, said Jessi Walker, who is a lecturer of art for Ohio State Marion and serves as the gallery coordinator.

“It’s quite an honor to be singled out from amongst the multitude of talent that comes through here,” said Walker.

“It keeps the standard high as an example to other students pursuing an art education,” she added.

Walker pointed out that along with the opportunity to show-off their work, students gain valuable real-life experience in exhibiting their work in a gallery, which is an extra component to their education that can be added to their body of work.

The Kuhn Fine Arts Gallery is free and opened to the public Monday through Friday, 8-5 p.m.
There will be a closing reception held from 4-6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1.
